Beginning Drawing for Teens & adults
Enrollment is open to students ages 14 and UP through adult. Elizabeth teaches from a right-brained perspective, i.e., learning to draw what we see instead of what we think we see. No previous drawing experience or skills are necessary. Lessons begin at the beginning with graphite and progress at a gentle rate. Students will move forward at their own individual pace. Colored pencil and other various artist’s pencils can be added in time. Elizabeth is an encouraging teacher with a gift for explaining technique so that students often say, “Oh, I get it!”.

Art 1 - drawing for kids
Art teaches children to express themselves, to think through a project before acting, and it builds their self esteem. Studies have shown that students studying the arts do better in other subjects as well. Elizabeth’s approach to teaching encourages creativity and individuality. She teaches skills, lays an artistic foundation, and helps children to discover their own style. These lessons allow room for each child to progress as an individual, be it accelerated or a more gentle pace. Emphasis is on a positive and non-competitive atmosphere. Classes will have so many fun projects this year with a focus on drawing but also including some play with paint and maybe a few surprise projects.
Art 1 classes focus on basic drawing skills and making creative decisions.

Time: Tuesday 3:30 - 4:20.

Advanced drawing for adults
The Advanced Drawing Stuio is a positive environment in which the student can explore creative styles, deepen their understanding of how to use the drawing tools, and enjoy the freedom of expressing themselves through art. Artists will continue to grow in their drawing skills with each project. Elizabeth is an encouraging teacher with a gift for explaining technique and creativity. Much freedom is given allowing students to progress at their own pace and to choose the projects that inspire them.
The examples included in this listing are by Elizabeth’s students. They all started out in the Beginning Drawing Class before joining the Advanced Drawing Studio.
